M4: Major tailbacks at Bridgend as air ambulance is called to scene of accident

The air ambulance was called to the scene of an accident that has closed three lanes of the M4 westbound.

The accident, involving a car and trailer, happened between J35 Pencoed and J36 Bridgend just after 1pm.

Traffic cameras are showing there is queuing traffic in the area.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “We were called shortly before 1pm with reports of RTC on westbound carriageway of M4 between J35 and J36. Two vehicles involved, a car and a four wheel drive vehicle with a trailer. All emergency services in attendance.

” The motorway is heavily congested and vehicles will require removal. No details on any injuries at this stage.”
