Press Release by Cardiff Airport
Avid Welsh rugby fans hoping to see the RBS 6 Nations 2015 away games will be able to fly direct from Cardiff to Paris Charles de Gaulle and Rome with low-cost airline Vueling, to see Wales take on France and Italy.
The special flight to Paris Charles de Gaulle departs Cardiff on 28 February 2015 at 0915 and lands in plenty of time to explore the French capital before heading to the iconic Stade de France for the match.
A special Rome flight departs the day before the Italy v Wales game, on 20 March 2015, meaning fans can enjoy a weekend break in the Italian capital of city and culture and return the day after the match.
The announcement of these special 6 Nations flights are in addition to popular winter flights to Malaga and Alicante already running throughout the winter season at Cardiff Airport. Vueling has also released its summer 2015 schedule of direct flights from Cardiff to Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga and Palma Mallorca, allowing Welsh customers to benefit from booking Vueling’s low cost fares in advance.
Cardiff Airport’s Aviation and Business Development Director, Spencer Birns, said: “This is really good news for Welsh rugby fans and is testament to Vueling’s commitment to Cardiff Airport. As one of our leading airlines, we’re pleased that Vueling has recognised what rugby means to the people of Wales by offering these flights in addition to their Spanish programme.”
Fans wanting to travel to the Scotland game can fly to Edinburgh with CityJet who have additional seats available for the weekend away. CityJet also serves Paris Orly with a daily scheduled service.
