Passengers stranded at Tanzania airportPosted: January 2, 2015
More than 100 passengers have reportedly been stranded after officials said pilots at Tanzania’s main airport failed to report to work following their Christmas break.
They were due to have flown on December 27 from Dar es Salaam to Comoros and other destinations.
Angry passengers accused the state-owned carrier Air Tanzania, of treating them badly.
A spokesperson for Air Tanzania said the airline didn’t know why the pilots had failed to turn up to work, the BBC said, and apologised to passengers.
One passenger told the BBC that she was no longer sure that she could trust what the airline said as it had repeatedly broken its promise about when the flight would leave.
