Ever watched a small plane go over and thought ‘Wonder what the view’s like from up there’? Now you knowPosted: January 12, 2015
Huw Carey, who lives in Pontsticill in the Brecon Beacons, has been flying for over 24 years and recently started making videos of his flights.
This one shows his trip over the majestic Brecon Beacons, capturing one of Wales’ most beautiful areas from above.
And he might be biased, but he believes that Wales is one of the best places to fly in Europe.
“I have been flying for over 24 years and for a while was a flying instructor based in Swansea,” he said.
“Without doubt Wales is one of the best places to fly in Europe. The beautiful scenery of mountains, hills and coastline, coupled with lots of uncontrolled airspace, friendly golf club owners that have grass runways on certain fairways where it’s nice to pop in have a coffee and maybe a few holes of golf.
“It’s not unusual for me to fly to Kilkenny in Ireland for lunch and back to Wales on the same day – its only a 20 minute flight across the Irish sea.”
