Vueling inaugural Cardiff to Barcelona flight cancelled due to industrial action

The Vueling inaugural Barcelona – Cardiff – Barcelona flight has been cancelled on Thursday 29th March due to the general strike in Spain called for the same day.

Vueling has been forced to operate a minimum services decreed by the Ministry of Public Works. This has meant that the inaugural flights have had to be cancelled.

The Wales Air Forum was advised today that Vueling had done everything in their power to allow the inaugural flight to operate however the decision was made by the Spanish Government and was not in the hands of the airline.

The inaugural flight will now take place on Saturday 31st March however the official Cardiff Airport welcoming party will now take place on Tuesday 3rd April where it is possible the aircraft will be welcomed by a water cannon salute.

The reception to mark the launch of the Vueling air link from Cardiff to Barcelona at the Senedd which Clive Sedgebeer & Gerallt Marsh have recieved invitations for will continue as planned on Thursday 29th Mar.

Vueling will operate the following flights according the minimum services decreed  by the Ministry of Public Works.  Please, check here the flight that will be operated due to the general strike.

All passengers affected by the general strike with bookings made through www.vueling.com will be able to:

1. CHANGE A FLIGHT

If you want to change your booking, you’ll be able to  choose one of the following options by clicking here or by contacting our special telephone number:   (+34) 902 808 009

• Free change of flight to another one when operating the 29th March
• Free change of flight to another one when departing before the 29th March or to the immediate next flight with available seats to the one originally booked.
• Changes of date departure to the next available flight will not be charged with a change fee but the difference of fare between both flights should be paid, if anyone.

2. REQUEST A REFUND ONLINE

• Alternately, you can ask for the refund of the affected flight here. Please fill in all the fields in mandatory and the refunds will be done within seven (7) days.

All passengers of flights affected by the general strike with bookings made through travel agencies, on-line agencies or www.iberia.com should ask for these alternatives to their own Customer Services

Passengers whose flights will not be operated have been notified by e-mail and sms to the e-mail address that was entered during the booking.
