Thomson customers to get £10 refund if Dreamliners delayed

Thomson customers will receive a £10 refund for the premium they paid to fly on a Dreamliner, if they instead have to fly on another aircraft type.

This comes after Thomson confirmed that Boeing had pushed back its expected delivery of the operator’s first B787 beyond the end of February.

A spokesperson for Thomson told TTG: “The airline teams are putting alternatives in place if the delivery delay falls beyond March.”

He added that customers would only receive their £10 refund if they were not able to fly on the Dreamliner but that it was an “evolving situation” and the hopes were that the aircraft will still arrive in time for its planned inaugural flights.

“Our priority is ensuring our customers’ holidays go ahead,” he said.

Alternative aircraft would need to be sourced from within the Thomson Airways fleet, which would require schedules to be juggled, or leased from other operators.
